Brand new features 31st March 09

Hi ladies,

Just thought i would let you know of some new features here on FW.

firstly your profiles have changed slighty, if ppl visit your profile they can now leave you a profile message, you can check these messages by visiting your profile. Aileen you have one which is my tester on.

you can now give positive and negative reviews for ppl please bare with me as i have not found this function yet so i am unable to tell you exactly how it works. revised: cant seem to find it anywhere ive even checked out the support team and i cant find anything. if it suddenly appears ill let you know xx 5th April update:: ok so figured this out now, currently there is at the bottom of a persons post that they make a little + and - sign one on top of the other, well these are the positive (+) and negative (-) votes for the person if you click the + you will give them 1 single positive feedback point, and obviously if you click the - you will give 1 single negative feedback point. I will look at finding different more obvious symbols and if i manage it i guarentee you will spot them lol. I might try and smiley and sad/angry face or something like that.

Reputation is now available, it seems that the only way you can give reputation for now is to click the thanks button in the persons post once they have replied to your topic, giving that person 3 reputation points. You can NOT give reputation for replies from people for someone elses topic. You can only THANK one person per topic so please make sure you thank the person with the nicest reply or with the best advice. As you will not be able to change your mind later on.

Points, we now have a points system for posting replies and starting topics. Everyone should find that they have a good size number of points already as i have not only given each and everyone of you 10,000 ponts to start with it seems to have already backdated it from the day you joined and each post you have already made.

Flood control, this is a time limit set to 40 seconds between members being able to post replies or new topics. This is done to try and limit spamming, and any issues that may arise causing upset and bad air on site. The Admin and Staff are NOT affected by this limit.

Login Pop-up, this will now appear when you come onto the hompage before signing in, you have the option to click for it to not appear when you sign in on the next visit. It has also given an opportunity for myself to put a persnal message to guests so they may join our site.

Mini-quote, this button should allow you to quote several ppl at the same time in one post, meaning you dont have to waste time going through each individual response and answer separately, it will also make posts easier to read. Please however remember quoting is NOT allowed in the Debates forum.

Scrolling Announcements, occassionally there maybe a need to inform you all of an event or important updates etc and for this we now have the facility to do a single announcement to scroll across the homepage and forum. Please keep an eye out for these as they will be of great importance and use to us all.

You will notice if you are able to access the memberlist that you can now see everyones avatar, this may make it easier to recognise a member if you cant quite remember their username.

Once I have figured out exactly how to do all these things i will come back and update this thread.

Same goes from me too hun, although it may be a bit confusing for this old brain :lol: but I'm sure once I'm used to it I'll be fine.

that a girl Aileen, it will take time for us all. Took me an hour to write all of that out as i was flicking between this screen the admin screen and the support teams screen at forumotion to make sure i got it all right lol.

i confused hehe... i'll just go back to this screen if i have any problems hahaha.

i have now figured out how to give votes for ppl i will add it to the main part of the topic now.

i tried to change the pics for the positive and negative votes but it wont change them on the forum which is slightly annoying so it is still the + and - symbols at the bottom right corner of each persons post before their siggy. xx
